This picture was taken at the 1956 Tulsa National Convention, held at the Mayo Hotel from June 18-22. Ruth Singer was the president for 1955-56 and was asked by a group of delegates at the convention to run for a second year. She declined repeatedly, but after intense pressure, she accepted the nomination and was reelected for the 1956 - 1957 term.
