2008 Memorial Day Activities

There are numerous activities in the DC area over the Holiday. The American Gold Star Mothers participate in the following:

Friday May 23, 9 pm. Candlelight vigil at the Vietnam Wall.

Saturday May 24, 8 pm - 10 pm. Rolling Thunder Hospitality Room, Hyatt Regency Crystal City.

Sunday May 25, 8 am - Noon. Rolling Thunder Ride, Music and Speakers at the Reflecting Pool.

Evening Concert on the Capital Lawn.

Memorial Day Observance at Arlington in the morning then at the Wall in the afternoon.

Rooms are available at Jury's Normandy Inn for $119 plus tax/night (Sat - Mon). Parking $25/night additional. Call Meredith at 202-448-1772 to reserve.

2006 Memorial Day Events

Sun May 28 Rolling Thunder XIX - Once again, the American Gold Star Mothers rode with members of Rolling Thunder through Washington DC.

Everyone assembled in the north Pentagon parking lot at 8:00 am. The ride left at 12 noon for a ride through Washington DC to the Vietnam Memorial to pay respects to our brothers and sisters who gave their lives for the freedom we enjoy everyday and for a full accounting of all POW-MIA's.
