Dear Gold Star Moms,

Thank you for your vote of confidence in electing me President of the Dept. of New York, American Gold Star Mothers. I am very proud and honored to serve you to the best of my ability and will always strive to do what is best for our organization.

The Moms of Poughkeepsie Chapter 31 are also honorary members of Rolling Thunder, New York Chapter 3 and as such we volunteer our services throughout the year at our two main Veterans Hospitals, namely Castle Point and Montrose Hospitals. Additionally, we participate in wreath-laying ceremonies and we attend Wakes and Funerals of veterans and other heroes.

We also attend meetings with the VFW, Rolling Thunder and Veterans Coalition. We participate in fundraisers for Veterans causes and we attend Street and Park Dedications in the names of our fallen sons and daughters.

The past several weeks found us very busy hunting for our next convention site, and with the much-appreciated help from Vivian Allen, we have settled on the Homewood Suites by Hilton located at the Stewart Airport in Newburgh, NY. I have signed the contract and firmed up the convention dates.

Departure date for most people will be Sunday April 15, 2012. Details will follow with our Convention Call within a few days after January 1, 2012.
