March/April Jersey JOTS 2016

No, the ground hog did not see his shadow this year and we are hoping for that early spring.. This gives us the opportunity to get up, get out, and take nice long walks or rides and begin cleaning up our yards.

The daffodils and crocus are beginning to bloom which assures us spring is just around the corner. This is the Lenten Season, the 40 weekdays from Ash Wednesday until Easter observed by many as a season of fasting and penitence in preparation for Easter. We then gather with our families and friends at this time of year.

Our calendars are beginning to fill up with upcoming events. Please support our families of the fallen by attending some of the benefits that are planned in memory of their loved ones.

My assistant, Terry Fearon has spent a lot of time working with the Library of Congress and Congressman Chris Smith's office of NJ amending the Veteran's Oral History Project Act to allow the collection of video and audio recording of biographical histories by immediate family members of members of the Armed Forces who died as a result of their service during a period of war. H.R. 4511 has been introduced which has been referred to the Committee on House Administration. The GOLD STAR FAMILIES VOICES ACT, if approved, will be one more milestone for NJ. All things are possible when you have dedicated supporters and members who make the effort to make things happen. Thank you, thank you.

Remember, Dedication is not what is expected of you, Dedication is what you can do for others. Thank you, Judi - “WE HONOR THROUGH SERVICE”
