Moms from the Wichita and NE Kansas chapters participated in several Veterans Day 2009 events around the area.

Anita Dixon (center) at the Kansas State Fair in Hutchinson. We manned the Welcome Home Veterans Booth from the VA Dole Hospital with representatives from Wichita and Topeka. The booth provided "Welcome Home" information to any Veteran at any time that needed assistance to the changing times and benefits for veterans. A lot of great material was handed out about veteran's benefits assistance and how to meet veteran's their medical needs.

Homeless Veterans Stand Down in Wichita in September 2009. The Homeless Veterans Stand-Down is in its 13Th year. They assist the homeless veterans and low income veterans of Wichita with clothing, medical, food, daily toiletries, haircuts, and eye glasses. We served about 300-400 veterans that day. Tents were set up from the McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita and the Marine Corp here in Wichita.

We had a wonderful meeting on April 25, 2009 at the VFW Post #3115 in Wichita, Ks. We discussed numerous upcoming dates. Betty provided an update on the Gold Star Monument in Washington, DC and gave all an opportunity to buy a Gold Star Pin. Commander Beckham and Commander Berg gave updates on their positions within Veteran Affairs and future help within our organization.
